In my research on burnout, I’ve learned that there is no standard definition of the term “burnout” because there are so many different burnout symptoms that are associated with it. Everyone seems to respond differently to excessive stress and exhaustion.

From an alternative healing perspective, this makes sense because burnout is an energetic illness of the chakra system, and chakras affect every aspect of our life.

I’ve found that where the chakra system breakdown occurs can suggest which burnout symptoms a person may experience.

Before we get to that, I want to explain why there are so many different types of symptoms associated with burnout.

As I mentioned, burnout is an energetic illness that occurs in the chakra system.

It particularly affects a specific component of the chakra system called the central chakra channel. This channel nourishes the seven chakras by drawing Heaven energy down from above and Earth energy up from below.

Specifically, burnout causes a deterioration of the central channel to the point that it can no longer funnel Heaven and Earth energy as it should. This deterioration tends to begin locally, behind certain chakras.

Because each chakra influences a different aspect of our life, we can expect a certain type of burnout symptom to occur depending on where the deterioration is located and which chakra is most affected.

Predicting Symptoms of Burnout

Signs of burnout at heart chakra

Figure 3: First signs of burnout at heart chakra.

Figure 3 shows deterioration starting to occur behind the heart chakra. In this case, a person may be feeling the onset of burnout but most likely can push through and continue to function normally.

Central chakra channel, significant burnout symptoms

Figure 4: Channel suggests individual’s burnout symptoms are significant

In Figure 4, it becomes apparent that the deterioration has spread. This person’s symptoms are likely affecting her enough that she’s missing work.

The deterioration of the central chakra channel can occur anywhere, behind any chakra.

The common symptoms of burnout can help indicate where central chakra channel deterioration may be occurring. But the reverse is also true. Using Gemstone Therapy methods, we can evaluate and assess the central chakra channel, identify where this deterioration is occurring, and then determine which symptoms a client is most likely to experience. Being prepared and informed, a person is more equipped to cope with the effects of burnout and get the help she needs to recover.

Diamond and Gemstone Therapy methods can be applied by certified practitioners directly to the central chakra channel to support this healing. Meanwhile, a client can use specific gemstones to receive restorative energetic support all day long.

If the central chakra channel is deteriorated behind the crown chakra, burnout can manifest as increased cynicism, poor attitude, and headaches.

If the weakening of the central channel occurs behind the brow chakra, a person may have difficulty concentrating during the day and sleeping at night. She may feel distant and separate, and she may suffer from headaches.

Figure 5: Deterioration in the central chakra channel at the crown, brow, and throat chakras.

Deterioration near the throat chakra can result in decreased creativity, lowered ability to communicate clearly, a lack of desire to talk about the potential burnout, and inability to accept the truth of it.

When the central channel is deteriorating behind the heart chakra, burnout symptoms can manifest as moodiness, quickness to anger, and emotional exhaustion or numbness.

If damage occurs at the stomach chakra, a person may feel unable to cope, withdraw herself from leadership opportunities, and experience an unhealthy sense of detachment, reduced performance, stomachache, and digestive issues.

Figure 6: Deterioration of the central chakra channel at the sacral and root chakras.

At the sacral chakra, central channel breakdown often leads to problems relating to other people, including family and co-workers. A person may feel alienated from family, social, and work-related activities. She may also experience physical symptoms in the lower abdomen.

Finally, deterioration in the central channel behind the root chakra is associated with decreased levels of commitment, loss of motivation, absenteeism, and a tendency to move from one job to another. The person may feel listless, lethargic, and apathetic.

Feelings of depression are also commonly reported by those suffering from burnout. Depression has been well correlated with a certain breakdown that occurs in the chakra micro-vortexes, a different part of the chakra system. Diamond and Gemstone Therapy Practitioners take a different approach to this situation. They use a specific type of evaluation to estimate how strongly these feelings are affecting a person based on how many micro-vortexes are involved. Then, specific healing gemstones can be applied to repair the damage to the micro-vortex.
