Jade Vitalizes the Body’s Energy Matrix
Jade energy targets the energetic fabric associated with the physical body, but it can be effective for emotions and thoughts as well. Jade also has a special affinity for the fascia. Healthy fascia consists of densely packed collagen fibers that interpenetrate and surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and vessels. Fascia exists throughout the body to give it shape, and holds organs and vessels in place.
As the body ages in late adulthood, or when it is subject to persistent stress, gaps develop in the collagen’s energy matrix creating looseness in the fabric. This manifests as sagging skin, a decline in healthy organ function, and muscle atrophy. At the same time, limiting mental concepts, rigid attitudes, and angry emotions are among the many factors that cause other portions of the collagen matrix to clump and harden. (Think of the rigid lines on the faces of chronically angry people.)
In this necklace, Nephrite Jade works with Prehnite to correct weaknesses in the body’s energy matrix. Jade Strengthens the Centripetal Force
As energy moves around the body in what I call the personal vortex, it is controlled by two opposing forces. A centrifugal force that spirals outward and a centripetal force that spirals inward. While at times one of these forces may out-perform the other, they remain in equilibrium.
As the body ages in late adulthood or experiences excessive stress or trauma, the centrifugal force strengthens and the centripetal force weakens. Energies are more likely to move away from the body without enough coming back. As a result, tissues weaken, organ function declines, metabolism slows, cells become undernourished, systems are unable to communicate or cooperate as well as they once did, and an individual may feel less energetic than before and recover more slowly from stress, injury, or trauma. In short, the body shows signs of premature aging.

Jade Restores Kidney Energy
The ancient Chinese believed that Jade promoted longevity and restored the life-force. Based on what we understand about kidney energy, or what the Chinese Medical doctors call kidney “jing” it makes sense that Jade would have these properties.
According to Chinese Medicine, kidney jing is the most valuable life essence and not to be wasted. Jing is stored in the kidneys but circulates throughout the body. There are two types of jing: prenatal and postnatal. Prenatal jing is passed from the parents to the fetus and determines basic constitution, strength, and vitality. Prenatal jing cannot be augmented, only conserved by practicing balance in all life activities.
In contrast, postnatal jing can be replenished. It is extracted from the food we eat and the air we breathe. It also determines constitution, influences our strength and resistance, and contributes to growth, development, sexual maturation, reproduction, as well as the formation of bone marrow, the brain, and the spinal cord. Wearing Jade & Prehnite enhances your body’s ability to obtain life-giving energy from food and air. In this way, it supports and replenishes kidney jing.
Weaknesses in kidney jing in children include symptoms of poor bone and teeth development, stunted growth, and poor mental development. One of the first things I do during a gemstone therapy session when a client reports issues involving fear, is to apply Green Nephrite Jade & Prehnite to the kidneys. This helps connect my client with her courage, and aids the release of the energies of the fear itself as well as the associated memories.
Symbiotic Prehnite
Prehnite energy is softening, soothing, and accommodating.
Prehnite softens, because in the presence of its energies, the energetic fabric associated with physical tissue becomes more flexible, bendable, and receptive. The fabric releases its hold on rigidities born of hardened mental concepts and opinions, and limiting emotional patterns or negative emotions. With Prehnite energy clearing the way, Nephrite Jade energy is more effective at drawing in loosened fabric and a person’s enhanced centripetal force becomes more therapeutically beneficial.
Prehnite energy soothes by correcting irregularities in the tissue fabric. Prehnite is better at mitigating excesses, while Jade fills in the breaks and pulls the tissue’s energetic matrix together. Imagine spreading butter over toast. Prehnite is the knife that evens out the clumped energies to produce well organized connective tissues.
Prehnite is accommodating in that it allows healing energy to access the tissues when it otherwise couldn’t.
When Jade is worn by itself, it will draw together the body’s energies. However, they are likely to meet resistance from unwanted energy accumulations and outdated patterns of thought and emotion. These patterns try to keep the status quo and prevent the body’s energies from moving into a new, healthier configuration.
When Jade is strung with Prehnite, the Prehnite energy paves the way for the Jade. It softens the tissues’ energy patterns making them more permeable to the Jade’s influence. With the softening, unwanted energy accumulations dissipate. Prehnite’s soothing effect makes these transitions occur gracefully and with ease.
Quality
Therapeutic-Quality Jade
Therapeutic-quality Green Nephrite Jade ranges in color from a medium light green, to bluish and olive green, to a rich pure green, which is the highest quality. Cracks and inclusions should be absent. Nephrite’s green color is due to iron molecules. Ideally, they should be evenly spread through the Jade, to reflect the evenly woven collagen fibers that the Jade & Prehnite strives to produce.
In the marketplace, very expensive Jade may or may not have iron markings. It seems as though price has more to do with the clarity of the Jade and purity of its green color. For therapeutic purposes we are presently trying to avoid the iron markings. To make necklaces affordable, however, we’ll accept some beads that have minimal iron markings and place them near the clasp.
By far the highest quality Green Nephrite Jade is presently coming out of Siberia. We offer both Siberian and Canadian. Canadian Jade is more economically priced.
Therapeutic-Quality Prehnite
Therapeutic-quality Prehnite is a pale yellowish-green color, with few or very few visible inclusions and a pearly luster. It is usually cut into rondels although spheres are sometimes available.
How to Use
Wearing therapeutic gemstone jewelry around your neck or on your wrist or ears is by far the easiest way to enjoy their healing benefits. Therapeutic gemstones may also be applied on the body as a poultice, or applied in the aura strung on a therapy wand.
Green Nephrite Jade
The Earth offers two greenish rocks that are both called Jade. More specifically, they are Jadeite Jade and Nephrite Jade. (Our Green Jade is Nephrite.) These two stones may look similar in some cases, but they have different mineral compositions. Although both consist of interlocking crystals, Jadeite’s crystals are more granular, while Nephrite’s are felted, fibrous, and neatly interwoven. Images of Nephrite under high magnification show these fibers like combed wavy hair. Nephrite’s interlocking fibers give it its unique resistance to breaking, and make it the toughest natural material. (In comparison, Diamond has the greatest hardness.)
Jade in Mesoamerica and How Nephrite Got Its Name
Jade has been used for thousands of years around the world, particularly in China, South America, Europe, and New Zealand, for healing, rituals, and tool-making. Everywhere Jade was used, it was revered. Yet when Cortes invaded Mexico in 1519, he at first saw no value in the green stones. Soon enough, the Spanish conquistadores adopted the native Mesoamerican custom of wearing jade or carrying a piece in their pocket to cure kidney disorders, purify the blood, and protect a warrior’s strength. They called it “piedra de ijade” or stone of the flanks or loins. In Europe, this was translated as “pierre del l’ejade,” which became “le jade.” Its Latin name became “lapis nephriticus” or “stone of the kidneys” shortened to “nephrite.”
Jade in Ancient China
The ancient Chinese called it the Stone of Heaven and had a saying, “Gold is valuable; Jade is invaluable.” Their emperors surrounded themselves with Jade in the form of belts, rings, pendants, daggers, and sculpture, and were buried in suits made of Jade. Confucius wrote: “Anciently superior men found the likeness of all excellent qualities in jade.”*
Then, in 1784, Jadeite was found in Burma, and an agreement between the governments of the two countries supported active trade in Jadeite. The Chinese were captivated by Jadeite, which is shinier than Nephrite, and has a wider range of colors. Within 200 years, they had completely abandoned their Nephrite for Jadeite. Recently, however, the Chinese are reconnecting with Nephrite and compete in the market for the highest qualities.

Jade in Old New Zealand
Nephrite also has a long history among the Maori of New Zealand. When the Maori first arrived there, they found an abundance of a beautiful green stone that they called Pounamu, which means Greenstone. The Maori used their Pounamu to make ceremonial objects, formidable weapons, beautiful jewelry and tools and axes whose edges held better than soft iron. Jade became a fundamental part of Maori life and their culture developed around it.
The Maori named their Jade according to its shade of green:
Inanga: Very pale green.
Totoweka: Streaked or spotted with red.
Kohuwai: Named after the greenish moss that grows in slow running streams.
Kawa-kawa: Strong green color with varying shades throughout.
Kako-Tea: Dark green with black spots.
Kahurangi: Bright green with light streaks resembling rolling clouds.

To develop the GEMFormulas’ necklaces, Isabelle consults with her Gemstone Therapy teachers in the higher planes or the gemstone guardians in charge of the gemstones used. Here, Isabelle shares some of her personal experiences behind the scenes in the development of this necklace.

Years ago I visited the Jadeite caves and recently when I began working with Nephrite, I learned of the Nephrite caves. They’re called The Jade Caves. For months I awaited an invitation to go there and meet the Keepers of Jade. In anticipation, I’d kept a strand of very fine Canadian Nephrite near my bed. The invitation came the day I strung it with its symbiote, Prehnite. That was also when I noticed the Nephrite energy waking up.
It was the Guardian of Prehnite who took me to the mouth of the cave. This Guardian wears an intriguing beak-fronted helmet that covers the upper portion of his face. The top of it sports intricate carvings that look like feathers. I wasn’t sure if my mind was giving me accurate information because I’ve never seen anyone like him before. Nonetheless, his green eyes were very kind and larger than most. His eyes’ sclera was also greenish.
He said that by pairing Nephrite with Prehnite that I am helping their Guardians to fulfill an ancient contract. Prehnite has come to reawaken Jade. Its healing properties had been active for several thousand years. When Jadeite was revealed, the Nephrite started to fall asleep. So I was right about sensing its awakening.
The green glow surrounding the Guardian grew stronger and beside us a portal into the Earth was revealed. At first, it looked like a dark puddle, but we descended through it and entered a subterranean corridor. I learned we had entered a honeycomb of tunnels and rooms. The ceilings were supported by glassy columns, whose shape reminded me of rock pillars formed by water or wind erosion.
As we walked along the hallway, its walls transitioned from rock into a mixture of white and green Nephrite. The deeper we went, the greener the walls became. I assumed they were getting thinner too, as they began to appear back-lit, as though a light behind them was illuminating them. The light allowed me to see the veins in the Jade and the random black aggregations of iron molecules. I became aware that the Prehnite Guardian was responsible for this light.
We reached a small circular cavern of the most beautiful pure forest-green color. I felt as though I was inside the heart and soul of Jade itself. I grew increasingly curious about the healing properties of this gemstone and its combination with Prehnite.
Then I heard the sound of a gong and the presence of Jade became palpable. I heard words that seemed to be coming from the walls themselves. “Jade is not a gemstone, it is not a crystal, nor a rock. It is its own unique substance unlike anything else on Earth. Nephrite is the original Jade, the oldest Jade.”
I felt a kinship with the intelligence of Nephrite, and that we were within the presence of its Guardian, but I could not see him. Suddenly I became aware of a lot of information about Jade that was downloaded into my brain. Seconds later, the invisible Jade Guardian spoke again.
He said, “Life is a two-fold process. It consists of the coming together of matter and then its dissolution. Jade is here to hold the manifestation of matter together. It is the unifying force. Physically, Jade is made of tough interlocking fibers. Energetically it presents this blueprint of well-knitted energies in order to call chaos into order and to draw intelligence out of confusion. The return to chaos, confusion, dissolution, decay, and the flying apart of matter describes the end game, the aging process, the downward spiral of the life cycle. Jade is the antidote. It creates a vessel for energies to be held together, so they do not fly away, dissolve, or fall apart.”
Then on the far side of the cave, images appeared in front of the wall as though a three-dimensional projector was operating. The images represented the atomic bonds that hold molecules together. In the presence of Jade, I saw how they grew stronger. I wondered how this could be scientifically proved, when the voice that emanated from the cave walls asked me to lift my arm, and look deeply into the atoms and molecules that comprised it. To me, they looked relatively youthful. The atoms were holding themselves together quite well from what I could tell, and certainly did not appear decrepit.
The Guardian of Prehnite, who was standing beside me, offered his arm for me to inspect also. I focused on the atoms and molecules and noticed they were similar to mine in size, which made me guess we were about the same age. The obvious difference was that the bonds between his atoms appeared dotted with lights that reminded me of moving traffic at night. I learned that these lights denoted signals moving along the bonds, lending them a great deal of vitality.
I looked back at my own arm and realized that although my atoms weren’t falling apart, and were not too far from one another, there wasn’t a lot of traffic between them. I felt I needed more examples to understand what this meant.
The Guardian of Prehnite presented a 3-D projection of the arm of a very old man. The atoms and molecules in this case revealed many broken bonds. In addition a centrifugal force was clearly at play, urging the atoms to fly apart.
Next, I viewed an image of a young man’s arm. On the outside, it looked athletic and strong. On the inside, the atoms and molecules looked much closer together than any other example I’d seen so far. Because they were closer, information did not have to travel as far. It was as though the atoms were close enough they could hear each other. No special information transfer was required.
Then they showed me the image of the atoms and molecules in an injured arm. Here, I saw a skewing of the atoms. They were not lined up, but occupied a curved space. The pain was a presence that had taken over some of the space otherwise reserved for the atoms themselves.
Lastly, I was shown the hand of a five-year-old child. The child was obviously growing, because I could see the atoms emerging from within themselves. It was as though cellular division enabled a fountain of atomic manifestation to come forth out of seemingly nothing.
Now they brought in the energies of Jade.
In all the cases that were being illustrated for me, I perceived more order. The atoms lined up better. This occurred most dramatically in the arm of the old man. Then the Guardians added the energy of Prehnite to the Jade. I saw how the presence of the Prehnite caused the energy of the Jade to enter the area more easily as though it was opening a door in the body for the healing energies to come in.
The demonstration ended and I expressed my gratitude for it. I now had a much better understanding of the healing properties of Jade with Prehnite. The Guardians promised we would meet again, and in an instant I was back in my bedroom.

I have had fear issues in just about every aspect of life, emotional level, physical kidney problems, scary thoughts like paranoia and “what if this and this happens” … so I knew I wanted to work on this very deeply. The first time I held the necklace in my hand, it felt like I had to set a strong and specific intention. Moving through fearful situations was still scary, but it was like I could do it and get through it and stay on track. Also when I use the necklace at night, I dream about what scares me, not nightmares but just getting concious of what is under the surface. The necklace is also very good for poultices on sore muscles, and often my body directs it to a place I dont understand, I feel the energy pooling somewhere unexpected and then something releases. A few of my friends have tried the necklace, and one of their auras went very clearly from “constant outward direction” to settling around her like a calm vortex, just by her holding the necklace in her hand.

I had an amazing experience with this gemstone combination recently. I was slicing vegetables with a very sharp knife and experienced one of those nausea-inducing moments when I realized a sliced my finger. Deeply. Blood started pouring out of my fingertip. I didn’t want to go to the ER for stitches, so I applied a compression bandage and elevated it for hours. Then, when it was time to go to bed I wrapped my Jade & Prehnite bracelet, buttoned together with a Jade Amplifier, around my finger in a spiral. I kept it there all night. Amazingly when I woke up in the morning, although my finger was somewhat sore and bruised from the trauma, the edges of the wound were entirely closed! My boyfriend loves my Jade-Prehnite necklace. I had been working on other things so it was «free». It seemed to really like him! Over the course of many months he looked younger and seemed more grounded, less scattered, and it helped him through a really terrible phase/huge project of selling a large house and packing everything. During the covid-19 situation I’ve been feeling like I’m living my best life. Before when I used the necklace it felt like it was helping me navigate through deep uncertainty and a difficult transition trying to get away from toxic people and environments. A function of Jade that really sticks out for me is hardly talked about, and written here in a brief and easy to miss sentance: cooperation of systems. I do not know if Jade is able to access this for me now because I am more concious of the systems, of if it has done all along and I just overlooked that.
