The causal body, also known as the memory body or karmic body, constitutes one of the non-physical aspects of your being. Like the emotions and the mind, two other energetic parts of you, the causal body plays an important role.

Although the causal body is commonly referred to as memory, that isn’t its only function. It also contains information about the present, future, and past-life records, governs your sense of presence in time and space, and manages your awareness of cycles.

At the Gemstone Therapy Institute, we believe health comes from treating all aspects of a person, both physical and energetic. Some people have a strong connection to these non-physical parts of their being, while others may not even be aware of them. Whether we recognize it or not, we all have these energetic components that we rely on in our everyday lives.

In this blog post, to help you better understand what the causal body is, and appreciate your causal body, I’d like to focus on three of its functions and how to improve them.

Spatial Functions

Besides supporting your memory, your causal body is also responsible for giving you a concept of near and far, the space around you, and your presence within that space. The ability to be present in the here and now and sense that you are separate from everything else is another expression of this function.

The causal body helps you determine spatial relationships, such as how well a new couch will fit into the living room, or what the best way is to organize the items on your desk to make them readily available.

Your ability to maintain your equilibrium is also a causal function. Being able to balance on one foot is partly a matter of causal perception, as it requires you to understand how your body fits and operates in the space around you.

The Causal Body, the Mind, and the Emotions

The causal body is also a necessary buffer between the mind and emotions. Have you ever noticed how you start to feel angry when thinking about a topic you disagree with? Or how you feel calm and relaxed when thinking about peaceful things? These are both examples of how the mental body can directly impact the emotional body.

Fortunately, the causal body serves as a barrier between the mind and the emotions. While these obviously influence each other, a healthy causal body lessens negative interactions between them. If the mind sees a negative image, it usually sparks a negative emotion. That emotion spurs more negative thoughts, which fuels more negative feelings. The causal body tries to break the pattern with memories of where this downward spiral of negativity has taken you before, or perhaps memories of your previous choices to live a more positive, uplifting, and spiritual life. Without the causal body between them, the mind and emotions could continue to spur each other on. One could trigger the other to the point of exhaustion, and there would be no peace.

The physical body is encompassed by the emotional body, which is encompassed by the causal body. The layer that surrounds that is the mental body, and the intuitive body incorporates them all. The spiritual aspect of you lies beyond time and space, yet also exists in all parts of you—including in the physical body. This is why mystics will say “look within” to find the light.

The spiritual aspect also enlivens the causal body, making it mirror-like. A healthy causal body has a healthy mirror. It reflects thoughts back to the mind and feelings back to the emotional body to consider before expressing. This way, the mind doesn’t react to every budding emotion, and feelings don’t flare up at the slightest thought.

The Causal Body and Karma

The causal body is also known as the karmic or akashic body. This is where karmic records are stored. These records consist of all the events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intentions that you have experienced or will experience. The causal body contains them all and expertly organizes them.

Resolved karma is kept deep within the causal body, forming a platform foundation for future experiences. The new karma, which is always on the surface, is what faces us daily.

Active karma is kept on the side of the causal body nearest the emotional body, which makes the karma particularly prone to emotional involvement. As karma stimulates the emotions, the mind responds, the body acts, and the cycle continues.

This is where a strong mirror-like function in the causal body plays a role. The causal body’s mirrors are an antidote to karma. By reflecting the emotional body back to itself, they reveal the lesson that needs to be learned. Once the lesson has been realized, the person will be able to stay emotionally balanced in the face of a karmic situation, which allows the karma to resolve.

When karma is no longer needed to teach a certain lesson, it will stop causing a reaction and fade to the back of the causal body. After a rest period, the lesson may be tested, and if we’ve truly learned it, the situation may pass peacefully and unnoticed. No emotion is stimulated. Later, something new takes its place, as we are continuously learning. The purpose of karma is to keep us ever evolving into better human beings. It makes us more balanced, refined, and spiritual.

Gemstone Therapy for the Causal Body

In Gemstone Therapy, relatively few therapeutic gemstones have a natural affinity with the causal body. Golden Beryl is clearly one of them.

As the vitalizing gemstone for the causal body, Golden Beryl energy has a natural affinity with causal vibrations. When you wear this gemstone, its energies are attracted to the causal layer of your aura. There, it vitalizes and renews causal energies and stimulates the healing of causal fabric. With a healthier, more robust causal body, it becomes easier to access both short- and long-term memory. Your patience may increase as you become more confident in your knowing that all things occur in cycles. Your sense of presence in space and time can also improve. Thus, Golden Beryl can be particularly helpful to wear when you’re looking to move your home or office or find a new job.

To gain the most benefit from Golden Beryl, we pair Golden Beryl with Spessartite and Light Green Aventurine in our formula called Golden Eagle.

If you wore Golden Beryl by itself, past-life memories could come forward randomly and cause distractions or imbalances. Moreover, the mind can become confused if you begin to experience time circularly, as the causal body perceives it, rather than linearly, as the human mind prefers it. That’s why we recommend wearing Golden Beryl with its symbiotic stones—so that the memories that come forth are purposeful and intended.

When strung with Golden Beryl, Spessartite helps the chakra vortexes extend into the causal layer of the aura. If the chakras don’t reach that far, you’ll tend to have a poor memory, sense of time, and spatial relationship. Spessartite enhances the effectiveness of Golden Beryl by helping your chakras make this causal connection.

Light Green Aventurine helps identify areas of weakness and low vitality. When paired with Golden Beryl, this gemstone directs the Golden Beryl energy to those specific areas that need it most so that Golden Beryl can benefit you most efficiently. As you wear Golden Eagle, helpful memories will come forward in an orderly fashion, and causal healing will occur in balance and in time, as best suits your overall needs.

Together, Spessartite and Light Green Aventurine help Golden Beryl energies extend beyond the emotional body to reach the area of the causal body where they are needed most. Partner stones strengthen, support, and catalyze the effects of the primary gemstone. The gemstone energies strengthen the causal body and help intensify its reflective quality. This is one reason why we say these gemstones help resolve karma.

VIEW GOLDEN EAGLE

In Gemstone Therapy, we recognize that information from the future is as easily accessible as that of the past. Furthermore, the present harbors a depth of information, most of which is outside our conscious awareness. Wearing Golden Eagle can help you access those points along the time track that are particularly relevant to the issues you wish to address. Even a glimpse of the past or future can prompt wiser choices in the present moment.

For additional support for your causal body, you can wear Opalite & Golden Beryl, either by itself or along with Golden Eagle. Opalite in particular helps reveal the karmic past, which is laid out like layers of rock on a canyon wall. Wearing Opalite with symbiotic Golden Beryl makes it easier to see the cause-and-effect relationships in your life—which in turn makes you more likely to do something about them.

No matter which of these formulas you choose, wearing these gems will support your causal body. When your causal body is healthy, the need for change becomes more apparent. This recognition is an essential first step toward realizing that change. With this new understanding of what the causal body is combined with the motivation to take action, you’ll be more inclined to make changes in your life for the better.
