Benefits of Dichroic Green Tourmaline
The Green Tourmaline in our necklaces and bracelets is graduated from dark green and bluish-green in the front, through emerald and olive greens to pale greens in the back. Some of the Green Tourmaline gems are dichroic, which means they’ll appear one color when looked at from one direction and another when seem from a different angle.
Dichroism maximizes the range of tourmaline color frequencies available in the necklace and accentuates its yin-yang or masculine/feminine balancing properties. Another energetic benefit is that it encourages the wearer to see other viewpoints. In necklaces that support the masculine and feminine energies (namely Green and Pink Tourmaline), this can be especially helpful.
Symbiotic Tektite

Wearing Tourmaline and Gender
Twenty-five years ago when I first learned about Green and Pink Tourmaline it was made very clear that Green Tourmaline was for men and Pink Tourmaline for women. A lot has changed in a generation and it seems we have turned a corner, because this hard line is disappearing. Maybe it’s because it is becoming okay to admit we have both a masculine and feminine side to our nature, and to develop each of them. Or maybe it’s because we’re now working with the symbiotics of these gemstones.
I am so grateful to my woman customers who urged me to sell them Green Tourmaline & Tektite. I admire their courage to explore their masculine energies. Finally I tried wearing it myself. What an interesting journey! Nurturing the masculine part of me did not make me feel more aggressive or powerful, as I expected might happen. But I did feel more capable of asserting myself and standing up for my beliefs. I realized that I could accept others’ viewpoints without having to agree with them. I also feel stronger inside. In learning to balance the feminine and masculine aspects of myself, I’m feeling more in touch with my spiritual self, which feels neutral—neither feminine nor masculine. I also believe my feminine nature is becoming stronger, too.
